As a member of the SFC all skaters, parents, coaches, and board members are expected to adhere to this Code of Conduct. Our goal is to foster a safe, positive, and respectful environment for everyone involved in sport.

General Guidelines

1. Respectful Behavior: All members must exhibit good sportsmanship and courtesy towards fellow skaters, coaches, parents, Skate Canada officials, and guests. Bullying and harassment will not be tolerated.

2. Safety First: Skating is a competitive sport that requires awareness of others. Skaters should prioritize safety, both on and off the ice.

3. Ice Etiquette: Skaters must be aware of and practice the rules of etiquette and safety outlined in this document.

4. Registered Members: Only registered Skate Canada members are permitted on the ice, except in a medical emergency.

5. Proper Conduct: Any skater engaging in disruptive behavior, including foul language, aggressive conduct, or any form of harassment, may be removed from the session.

For prescription medication, skaters must abide by their healthcare professional's recommendations, including staying off the ice if advised.

On-Ice Conduct

1. Session Timeliness: Skaters are expected to be on time for all sessions.

2. Right of Way: Skaters in a lesson or whose music is playing have the right of way. Always yield to them to avoid collisions.
